Woman dies after being hit by bus
"A woman died after being hit by a SEPTA bus in the Wynnefield neighborhood of West Philadelphia on Saturday.
The 65-year-old was crossing 54th Street around 5:40 p.m when she was struck by a Route 52 bus. Andrew Busch, a SEPTA spokesman, said the bus was on 54th Street, about to turn left on City Avenue.
The victim went into cardiac arrest at the scene and was rushed to Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, where she was later pronounced dead.
Police said it was unclear if the victim, a resident of Lower Merion Township whose name was not immediately released, died because of the accident or if she had a preexisting condition. "
